fed up

I am just sick and tired and fed up with my job. Not even my job, more like my boss...

My kid has been in the hospital... Its not my fault... and if you think that I am not going to be with him, you can just kiss my fat ass...

I went back to work yesterday...My boss wasn't there...
he took the day off...
so, this morning, I got there, and brought him my leave slip for today... I needed to leave early to bring Austin to his follow up appointment.

He didn't want to sign... told me that I have been taking off too much...
I had talked to his boss yesterday about needing to leave early... he said it was fine...so I didn't understand.

He just went on and on about how I was taking too much time off... I explained, that I had 80 hours of annual before last week and almost 60 of sick leave... I took 32 annual and 8 sick last week... so I still had 5 of each... i didn't see the problem with needing to leave for 3.5 hours today...

He told me that I really needed to be careful and watch my leave... I told him I was... and that I wasn't worried about it, because I never take off... he replies with "you just took a whole week off" yeah, my kid was in the hospital... that's what we are discussing...

He went on to tell me not to bother asking for any time off when we move, or for the holidays, because it just won't be possible... WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!

I earn 3.6 hours of leave EVERY two weeks... so I still have 50 of annual and I am going to continue to earn... I don't get what the problem is...

He also told me that I "was just going to have to come in even if you wake up one morning and don't feel like it" I told him I do... I never stay home just becuase I don't feel like coming in... and he just repeats hiself...

I'm sick of it!!!!
I don't get the double standards... at all... everyone else takes off when ever the hell the please... even he did it yesterday... but my kid needs something and I'm the bad guy...

He also told me that i have to change my schedule back to the old schedule b/c that's what he wants... EVERYONE else in our section works the schedule they chose... but he wants to take that from me? which means, I will be using MORE leave to take off for Austin's therapy schedule... The whole point of changing my schedule was so that I wouldn't have to use all my leave... I am the only person in our group that actually has a reason to need to chane their schedule, but I am going to be the one to be forced to work a shitty schedule... and not be available to get my kid to the appointments he needs...

He also explained to me that I needed to clean the stacks off my desk... the only stacks that were on my desk, had been placed there by my lead worker.... they all and notes on them so that I could finish what needed to be finished... I tried explaining this... and he just wouldn't listen... kept repeating hisself... same shit... so what ever... later he came by my desk and started talking about the stacks I needed to clean up... you know what they were??? Stacks of envelopes... seriously... WTF?!?!?! I mail out letters everyday, EVERYDAY!!!! I REFUSE to go to the supply room to get more envelopes everytime I get a letter to send out... so they will stay on my desk... That's insane...

I know that things will get better... I know he was jsut in a pissy mood, but every couple of months he pulls this shit... I want it to stop... I just don't know what to do...

I am going to go through my Employee handbook to see what my rights are, especially concerning my leave.

Sorry this is so long... I just needed to get it out...

Here's Austin's update...
We saw Dr. Wood... he is fine.
He even managed to gain back right over one pound of the weight he lost
(the last weight the doctor had on file was 27.5lbs in July... so he was a little more than that... as of wednesday he was 25lbs even... so he had lost at least 2.5 lbs... if not more)
and he got a flu shot.
We are back to normal!! YAY!!!
I'm so glad that he isn't sick anymore...

anyway, that's enough for tonight...again I'm sorry its so long... ;)

finally home

The doctor called me right around lunch time to see how Austin was doing...
Then he asked if I was ready to go home....
Since we were, he agreed to send the discharge papers in... but he made sure to tell me that he would still have a bit of diarrhea... and that if he showed any sign of dehydrating again to bring him in immeadately...

We got this discharge papers around 3ish and then since Austin was napping we waited until he was awake to leave... We got home around 5ish...

Its so nice to be home....I missed my dogs!
lol

Austin still isn't feeling 100%, so he is pretty clingy right now...
I've noticed that he is falling a little bit more ... Which I know is normal becuase he's been sick... everyone looses strength when they are sick, I just hope it isn't a real set back for him.... he still seems to be going 90mph.... so I think he will be fine...

I just wanted to update everyone about what's going on...

an update (straight from myspace bulletin)

well, its 7 am (about)
We made it through the night IV free...
the did get the culture back from his stool sample...
he has the rotavirus... so of course, it just means that we have to let it just run its course... *sigh* I'm not too thrilled about that.. but what can you do...
I'm even less thrilled that they thought waking us up at midnight was the best time to tell us... *rolls eyes* I mean, if he was dieing from whatever it was ok... but its just a virus.... just like the doctor told us it prob was.... Even if it would have been something bacterial and they needed to start antiboitics... that's ok to wake me up... but to give me some paper explaining what it is...
I would have rather slept... oh well... Its their job... and at least I'm informed...

His diarrhea did stop last night about 8pm... so that was good...I'm hoping that means its clearing up and not that his belly was just empty...
He didn't pee before he went to bed... so I was a little concerned... I was hoping it wasn't a sign of him re-dehydrating....
but he soaked through his sheets ... so looks like he is still hydrated!!!

YAY!

He is still asleep... I thought about trying to sleep a little more, but I just couldn't... so I got on here... before he claims it as his computer... lol
Poor thing is just so bored... he's not allowed out of the room b/c its a virus... and contagious... blahblah...

Anyway, I guess I am going to go... I will update after we see the doctor... hopfully its to say we are going home..... *crosses fingers*

update

Well, we are still here...
Its just about lunch time..
Looks like we will be staying again tonight...

They did just unhook the IV for a while....
to see how he does..
he is drinking so they are thinking he will be ok...

And he is waiting for lunch...
they are moving him to a bland diet...
he got some cheerios for a snack a little while ago...
b/c he was hungry...

he is moving around right now and playing alittle bit...
so I'm thinking he is finaly starting to feel better...

I'll update again later.

Hospital

yep... That's right...
we are in the hospital...
I tried to get on a post last night, but it kept giving me some kind of error about cookies and I tried to fix it, but then when it didn't work i gave up and decided to just get some sleep...

But now its working, so I guess whatever I did just needed to reboot... lol

Anyway, I brought Austin in to see Dr. Wood yesterday morning... and just like I suspected... he was dehydrated...
and we got sent straight to the hospital... Dr. Wood said that he would be probably just need to stay over night... I'm not sure how long we will be here other than that... He still has only peed twice... and they want to do a stool culture... and of course he had an explosive diaper just before we got here... and I didn't know they would need that... so I just changed him before we came in... and now... he hasn't gone again....
I don't know if they will make us wait for that or not...

All in all he is doing really well... he has slept alot since we've ben here...

He does have an IV... but he hasn't tried to pull it out...
It does keeps getting kinked up... and the flow stops... because lets face it.. he's two... two year olds dont just sit still... even when they are connected to something...

Its right after six now, and he is starting to wake up, so I guess I am going to cut this short...

I'll update again when i can...

...still sick....

Austin did so great yesterday...
he didn't throw up... his fever was just about completely gone... (he was like 99-ish.. .and he's always a little warm....)
He played a little bit... still didn't pee much... but you could really tell that he was feeling better...

This morning...
He had a diaper full of watery diarrhea...
I didn't notice of course until I went in to get him ready to leave...
and he's getting warmer...
he still hasn't had many wet diapers... maybe 2... and that's a stretch...
so I'm at home again today...
I've decided I am just going to bring him to the doctor...

I'm even feeling a bit pukey myself... all I can say is if I get it... I hope its today and that I'm better by the weekend...

My poor Austin...

We are potty training... Grammy bought him some big boy underwear! And although I love them... He is terrified of them... until he forgets he has them on...
But gosh getting them on... He screams... he cries... he bites... he is so worried that he is going to pee “on” them... He begs for a “butt” (we have always called his diapers a butt... so the pull ups are butts too) ...

He did really well yesterday... Only had one real accident... At least while we were home he only had one real accident... and that was pee... He had another accident that I just refuse to count...

We were gone for a few hours... and I put a pull up on him... and it was barely wet when we got home... and we went right back to undies when we got home...

Now, I don’t know if the poor baby was sick, or if he was somehow traumatized by the underwear... but the poor baby said he had to go potty... we went in and he pooped... and I noticed it was a little soft looking (I know gross) but didn’t think much of it... we celebrated and I continued cooking... A few minutes later he announced he needed to go potty ... his daddy brought him that time and he pooped again... With-in minutes he needed to go again... this time just pee.... then as he was playing he tooted... and started crying... He had pooped... so his daddy cleaned him... and he got on the potty and had diarrhea .... So I decided there was no reason to torture him with the undies and just put a pull up on him since it was about time to eat...

After we ate I kept hearing him fart and it sounded horrible... he didn’t eat much and it was just chicken... so nothing that would really upset his belly... well after a few minutes of hearing the squirts I went to change his diaper.. well he was still going, so I thought I would just let him finish... bad idea...
He was walking around and tripped.. and fell flat on his but... and out it came... like chocolate pudding? Only watery-er... (is that even a word?) I a grabbed him and brought him to the bath room so I could change him... layed him down and it squirt up his back... all over his belly... just everywhere...
It was horrible... I got the diaper off... and pull off his shirt... and he started crying... he needed a wipe... I’m looking at the poor child who is covered in diarrhea... I said no baby... you need more than a wipe.. I started the shower and in he went... he was crying.. poor baby...

Once he got cleaned up he was happy... and didn’t really have anymore problems... I’m not sure if he pooped more last night or not... I had to leave to bring my mom home... so I wasn’t there... but I didn’t hear about it when I got home...

Now, this morning... poor little guy... he took his medicine and I guess it “went down the wrong pipe” and he started coughing... The child had woke up in the best mood... he was so happy, and just in a really good mood... poor thing coughed and coughed... we got in the car... and the coughing continued... I gave him some milk... it continued... so I took his milk back, so I didn’t cough it everywhere.. .or start choking... Well, the cough turned to a gag, and before I knew it, he had thrown up all over his self... You don’t know how horrible I felt dropping him off like that... I cleaned him up and changed his clothes... I know he wasn’t sick.. It wasn’t vomit... It was like spit up... (weird to think of a two and half year old spitting up.. but that’s really what it was) he was ok... he was upset about it... he hates being dirty, so he was really wanting to get cleaned... but once he was cleaned up he was fine..

He sat down happily and starting eating his breakfast...

I know Ms. Rhonda will call if he is sick... and something happens... but I still hate thinking that he “threw up” and then went to daycare... and now I am really dreading getting out to the car this afternoon... It should smell... wonderful? *gag*

Oh well... Its just another day in Paradise...
