The last night

Well, today is the last night in the trailer... we close on the house tomorrow.... We are going to move a few small things over tomorrow, and we are planning on spending the night there... even if that involves sleeping on the blow up mattress...

I will take a bunch of pictures, but I don't know when I will be able to post them... we wont have internet hooked up until friday... and then the big part of the move starts Saturday... I'm excited and nervous and happy and sad... and scared...

I never ever though we'd stay here forever, but I'm feeling a little bittersweet about the move...

I just wanted to let ya'll all know where I was and what was going on before I disappear for a few days... just bear with me through the move... I will be back!

The date is set

Closing day is wednesday...
We have our final walk at 10am and then at 1pm we close...

I can't believe this day is here.. I mean its been a long road, but honestly it seems like just last week the house was a slab.... now we will be moving this weekend...

I'm thrilled... I can't wait... but I must admit that it is a little bittersweet... i mean, I will miss this place... I'll be glad to be gone... but this is where we started our family... this was where we brought home Austin from the hospital... I never ever thought that we would be here forever... its just a little bittersweet...

Work is going a little better, I was pretty busy today... and I will be again tomorrow... then I'm off Wednesday... Things have just mellowed out a lot at work...
Emotionally I am feeling better as well... I am not nearly as stressed out... I mean, I won't lie, I am still anxous... but I'm feeling a lot better... just more peaceful... Not so emotionally spent...

Paradise is starting to looking sunny again.. the clouds have finally lifted....

Austin seems to be adjusting well to preschool... He has had some set back with pottying... but today he didn't have any accidents... so that's awesome! I think with things being so weird at home (with the packing and no real routine anymore) and the new school is just a lot for him... but his teachers are awesome and are really working hard to help us out...

He is having a blast! And we haven't had any tears at drop off (yet...*knock on wood*) we did have a few tears one afternoon because he didn't want to leave, so that's nice... I'm glad that he is enjoying it so much...

He brings home his work everyday and its really cute to see how proud he is of what he has done...



I guess really that's about it... I am getting tired... and I still have a few things to do before I go to bed... so I'll try to update agian tomorrow...

So we went to the house... Tuesday night... and they've got a lot done in just two days.... :)
We are still looking at the third week of December (aka like two weeks from now) as the finish/close/move week... I couldn't be more excited!!!

We talked with Kyle (the builder) while we were there, and he is expecting the house to be finished by the third week of December... so we may be moving for Christmas!!

day 3 and counting

Well, Monday was Austin's first day at DayCare in his undies...
and so far ...

NO accidents!

Now Monday, he didn't use the potty at all.. he held it until we got there, and then when me and Mike brought him to the bathroom he finally went...

Tuesday he finally went on the potty at DayCare... so that was a huge step...

We are still going strong!

I am so proud.

We also went to the house today...
It was an impulse trip... not planned at all...

But we have bricks!! It looks amazing!! I took a few pics with my cell phone camera... so I will try to get them off later....

An Update

I figured its time for an update... I don't really remember when I posted last... So I guess its just time ...

We went last weekend to look at the house and the only thing that had changed was that the stucco was finished... and paited... YAY! The house had been inspected, but unfortunately a wire was moved when they widened a door and it was not corrected... so the electrical didn't pass inspection... The problem was fixed quickly this week... and re-inspected and everything passed... The best news we have walls now!! YAY! There is still a little bit of work that needs to be done to finish them... (the texture and paint) but there are walls! You can really see the house now!!!

We also have been talking about the truck... and about how nervous we were about doubling our daily trip to work... I know that Gas prices are lower now, but what if it goes back up? Nothing is garuanteed to stay where it is... I just don't know how we will afford to drive the truck... and paying that much note on something and not driving it makes me just as sick... Then the thought of having to use the accord to be our primary vehicle really made me sick.. its been acting up and giving us problems... so we were considering trading it in for a car... After talking with our mortagae officer, who assured us that it wouldn't be a problem when it came time to close on the house... We decided to go look... and we ended up deciding on a 2008 Dodge Charger... Seeing as we were upside down on the truck we didn't have many options.. .we had to find something with a really good rebate...

Sunday Sunday Sunday...

Well, Its sunday...
I'm sick... or getting that way... My whole head feels like a baloon... Its all cloudy feeling... even my ears feel stopped up... and my throat hurts... I've been coughing and sneezing.... and I've got one of those horrible sinus headaches...

blah... its no fun...

I've been looking on-line to get more ideas for Christmas presents for Austin... :)
I'm so looking forward to the holidays... I'm a little bummed because I don't think we will be in the house for Christmas... but its ok... My real goal was Austin's birthday... I think there is a decent chance that the house will be finished... but I just don't think we will be moved... or even moving... I think we will be waiting for power and water and such things...

We are going out there today :)
I can't wait to see it!

I'm not really sure if anything has changed... but I am still excited about going...

a quick update

Ok, so I got the picture post out of the way... ;) now I can post a quick update before I head off to bed...

Things have been really busy, and insanely stressful lately...

Thankfully Austin is feeling better, and judging by the way his clothes are fitting him, he has gained back all of the weight he lost, if not a little more....

He is still getting stronger everyday... I just can't believe it...He still amazes me with the new things he is doing...

We went to see the house last Friday night... Its looking amazing... I have a few pics, but I'm not posting them... mainly because I am too tired... and honestly, it isn't much to look at... it *looks* just like it did last time we went...

They have started the stucco work on the front of the house... and other than that, the only change is the electrical and plumbing that had been ran...oh and they widened a door, that they forgot to widen in the begining...AND they put in both tubs and the hot water heater... of course, i guess that could be included with the "plumbing" lol

WE talked to Debbie today, she said that we are probably looking at a mid December date... which is nice, but makes me nervous... basically the house is going to be ready around December 12-22 of this year... so basically that means moving in at Christmas... blah... I'm hoping that they manage to get done a little early... The should start the Dry-Wall next week... This week (at least most of it) will be spent waiting on Inspectors to come by and inspect the work... Depending on when (and if ) they pass (i'm sure they will) depends on when it will be completed... so now we are just waiting....

yay...

anyway, I guess that's about it!

Its finally Friday night!
Thank god!!

This week really sucked... I just couldn't seem to get out of my funk... It could be that my boss was a complete ass about my kid being sick and in the HOSPITAL!!!!!!!! but who knows really...

There is a possibility that I could have an opportunity to leave my section and move to another one... It would be the same pay... same job title... but different work...

I'm an Engineer Technician... but my work is just clerical stuff... I write and send out letters... The most "technical" stuff I do is entering information to the computer system... this new possible job would be more engineering stuff... which I think I might like... but I just don't know...

Boo at the Zoo is this weekend... so you know I will have some new pics soon.

Our Home

Ok, so its been brought to my attention by my loving husband, that I haven't made any posts of the house pictures... Here's a timeline of the construction so far...

The first visit we made once "consruction" began was on September 25th...
the area where the slab would be poured had been framed up, and some of the pipes and things had been layed down.

Our next visit was on October 5th...The only real change that day was that the slab had been poured... YAY!!! but we were really able to judge the size of the yard since there was a clear definition of where the house would stop.

the weekend is over

and I am about to head to bed...

but before I went I just wanted to post a few little things about this weekend...

Me and Momma went shopping Saturday... and we got Austin a ton of clothes... now he just needs a few more pieces... mostly underwear and "pajammies" .... and maybe even another pair of shoes... .but that's it.

The Austin had a sleepover... Mike's brother called us around like 7-ish to see if Lexi could spend the night... and of course we said yes... She did great... Her and Austin have so much fun together... and I really loved listening to them giggle when we tried to put the to bed.... and having some kind of squeling contest... Those babies mean the world to me.

Today we rode out to the house... and we've got a slab! I am so glad!
I took lots of pictures, and since my memory card is in my camera, I'm not posting them tonight... Iwill post tomorrow... prob while Sarah Conner is on....

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend...
For us, it was just another weekend in paradise.

UPDATE!!!

Oh how I have missed my blogging...
Things are getting back to normal... and that of course means craziness has taken over.
Friday as Hurricane Ike started sending bands to the Baton Rouge area, Ms. Rhonda (the babysitter) lost power and had to shut down last minute... So I didn’t go in to work... I had no sitter... Instead we (Austin and myself) spent the day at my mom’s house... Until we got a phone call from Mike saying that Jimmy had just called and we had power!!!!

THANK GOD!!!

I was so excited.... As we finished lunch, I loaded Austin up in the truck and headed home to turn on the AC ....

Right as I drove up a friend from work called to tell me that they had been dis-missed from work a few minutes ago. We talked for a little while and then I called Mike to make sure he was coming home.

We shut all the windows and then left to go get our stuff from Mike’s grandparent’s house... (who by the way were wonderful and made us feel so at home. I love you both!!) Since Austin was sleeping by this time we left him at the Nanny & Paw’s so we could clean up at home with out his “help”.... then we made a stop by Mike’s parents to get Oreo... (Valentine was at Nanny & Paw’s with us)... So we got home ... and got some cleaning accomplished (the refridgerator and freezer.... and a few other things) After that we headed to Walmart to pickup a few things for the weekend and then back to get Austin...

Saturday was the LSU football game... YAY! Go Tigers!!!
We all loaded up in the truck and went shopping... For nothing really just to go I guess... Austin did need a new LSU shirt... and we picked up his costume for Halloween... Which I love!!! But it’s a surprise... I promise there will be a ton of pictures though!
Then we watched the game with some friends...

Sunday we actually went back to Walmart to go grocery shopping and get EVERYTHING since our fridge was completely empty....

Oh, and I forgot!
We got the call...
They got the permit!!!!! YAY!

We had our team meeting yesterday afternoon with Kyle...
He was nice, and we got to get a few minute last things taken care of.
We found out that they should be pouring the slab Wednesday and then the frame will start going up Friday.
Kyle said that as long as we don’t have any more hurricanes it should all be finished before Christmas... (which is what we are secretly hoping for)
I can not even tell you how glad I am to hear that!

So that’s it... things are back to normal here in Paradise.

A quick little note for today...

Happy Wednesday! I hope that everyone is doing very well today! Its been an off day for me, I've got some really bad anxiety for some reason this afternoon, and I can't seem to pinpoint the cause... but all in all things are going really well for us... Yesterday we went to pick out some colors for the new house... I am so very excited about that! We had such a blast! And surprisingly we didn't really fight over any of the choices... and we stayed WAY under our budget... The only "upgrade" that we choose to get was the 8" deep sink... but other than that we stuck with the basic package... And I couldn't be happier...
